In May 2020, Counter Culture and NPR joined forces to create the NPR Coffee Club, where your morning addition sustains public radio. During the holiday season, that same collaboration brings you Lightwave—a delicious blend that supports NPR programming and the sustainability initiatives of Counter Culture's producer partners. But don't forget about the "delicious" part! Lightwave includes some of Counter Culture's best and most interesting coffees from Ethiopia, Kenya, and Latin America. With notes of dark chocolate and berry, it's the perfect blend to share with your favorite people.

True to its name, Lightwave disperses light by supporting both NPR programming and Counter Culture'sSeeds fund. Seeds offers grants to Counter Culture's coffee-producing partners to implement sustainability projects of their own choosing. Counter Culture’s Seeds program is our way of giving back to the people and places that have given us––and you!––such incredible coffee. To date, more than $286,000 has been allocated to Seeds projects.
Throughout the year, Counter Culture funds their Seeds program by collecting a penny per pound from every coffee sold. This year, the NPR Coffee Club will donate $1 per pound from Lightwave to fund transformative projects in coffee-producing countries. By directing Lightwave funds into Seeds, the NPR Coffee Club will support sustainability projects and increase the resilience of coffee farmers and their communities. Because truly great coffee sustains both people and the planet.
