NPR Coffee Club FAQ
-
After careful consideration, NPR and Counter Culture Coffee decided to shift our collaboration and discontinue the NPR Coffee Club. We're incredibly grateful for NPR’s partnership in creating this program, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation for the support you've shown throughout the years. We're excited for how this collaboration will evolve. Stay tuned for more updates!

On June 7th, nearly all subscriptions previously processed through the NPR Coffee Club were seamlessly transitioned to Counter Culture Coffee. In most cases, active subscriptions, both ongoing and gift, will continue without interruption. Because we’re committed to maintaining our support for NPR, we will continue to donate a portion of sales from customers who have their subscriptions moved to Counter Culture automatically. If you want to make sure your subscription has been migrated (and for information on how to start a new subscription if not) reach out to us at retail@counterculturecoffee.com and we’ll be happy to assist! The fastest way of seeing if your subscription has been moved is to log into your new Counter Culture Coffee account and selecting “Subscriptions” (more info on that below).
Rest assured that you'll still receive the same exceptional coffee delivered right to your door. The exact blends you enjoy will remain available, albeit under different names. If you've been savoring "It's Bean a Minute," you'll find it as "Hologram"! And if you're a fan of "Brewline," "Gradient" is about to become your new go-to blend

The first time you log into the Counter Culture website, you can select “First time signing in? Register Your Account Here”. You will then be prompted to enter your email address–the same one you used to log into the NPR Coffee Club website–and create a new password.

You’ll still receive the exact same great coffees, just with a different label!

The single-origin options will function in the same way and continue to rotate every two weeks.

Yes! We’re committed to the long-term relationship between NPR and Counter Culture so we will continue donating a portion of proceeds from all orders made through previously existing NPR subscriptions.

We ship whole bean coffees because it helps maintain freshness, and we believe great coffees are at their best when brewed within 30 minutes of grinding. Also, we want the grind size to fit your brew method and flavor preference perfectly, and once you grind, there’s no going back.
Our only ground product is Single-Serve.
Please note, there are many great price-sensitive home grinders on the market; if you’re looking for a recommendation, please contact our CX team at npr@counterculturecoffee.com or visit our friends at Baratza. -
We do not currently carry certified bird-friendly offerings, but many of the coffees we offer are grown in diverse shade habitats.
Fun fact, Fred Houk, our co-founder, was a bird-enthusiast, and CCC offered one of the first bird-friendlycoffees on the market back in 1997— Sanctuary. This coffee and programming paved the way for our sustainability department. While we still appreciate Bird-Friendly efforts, we have shifted our sustainability focus from certification-centered to transparency-centered. For more info on our farm relationships and social and environmental sustainability projects, please check out our transparency report found here: Transparency Report
